Our mission statement is to "provide an educational music experience for adult singers and audiences in the Chisago Lakes area and its surrounding communities by enhancing the musical talent of each member, sharing the joy of singing, and providing audiences with enjoyable and quality performances."

Ken Cheney, Music Director
Cheney, in his tenth year as Director of Unexpected Company Chorale, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Read more . . .

Carol Maurer, Accompanist
Carol’s love for the piano began in early childhood. With a deeply musical family—vaudeville performers on her father’s side and a strong tradition of music on her mother’s—she was surrounded by inspiration. A few note-reading sessions with her mother helped launch a blend of playing by ear and tackling ambitious pieces beyond her years. By age 10, she officially began lessons after discovering Chopin and realizing she couldn’t quite ‘sound out’ his music.
